Leadership Mindset: Faith
One name for Lord Ganesha that caught my attention during a quiz was "Vignaharta" - the remover of all obstacles. This intrigued me, and I decided to pray to Vignaharta for a smooth life.
But will obstacles be removed just by praying? This thought made me realize two things:
- Obstacles often exist in our minds.
- To overcome them, we need to first cultivate a no-obstacles mindset in our headspace and belief space.
With prayers, belief, future endeavors, and life, having the right mindset and vision is crucial for leadership.
The smooth flow begins with us. When we start thinking with a no-obstacles mindset, everything else will follow suit, blessed by Vignaharta.
A right mindset is essentially a leadership mindset.
Leadership Mindset: Passion
Air, Water, Fire, Earth – the Four Elements of Life, united by one force. They must coexist:
- Air – Breath of Life – Existence
- Water – Growth of Life – Adaptability
- Fire – Light of Life – Passion
- Earth – Stability of Life – Focus
A leadership mindset fueled by passion and backed by purpose combines focus with the ability to accept and adapt to life’s challenges. This mindset is crucial for leadership development and emerging leadership.
Leadership Mindset: Journey
Stalactites and stalagmites, fascinating in words, represented the rote learning effect in my mind. Bonds and yield curves were equally fascinating in finance, but my learning curve did not yield results. From geography to history, the struggle remained until I embraced the concept of building Zillionite during both challenging and cool times. That is how I achieved personal growth for leadership development.
Just like a motorcycle rider who rides for the pure joy of it – not for the fascinating road or destination – leaders must find joy in the journey. They must lead and take charge.
Leaders Take Charge
Leadership is about taking charge:
- Charge = Self-leadership displayed in their life
- Charge = Vital energy to be a go-getter
- Charge = The price paid in time, money, priorities, sacrifices
- Re”charge” = Pausing to rest and reflect, then giving it another go
- In”charge” = Taking complete responsibility and power to call the shots
- Dis”charge” = Feeling liberated after making an impact
- Charge Up = Fueling new passions
A leader’s journey of charging continues, transforming like a caterpillar into a butterfly.
Despite there being no indication in a caterpillar that it will become a butterfly, it does. This transformation is the best inspiration for what lies ahead with a leadership mindset.
Have a clear Vision and strive for growth.
Think Higher – Of Self, By Self, For Self
Self-leadership is true leadership. Rise higher in your own mind and hear your voice. Everything else is background noise. Lead life by understanding:
- When to enter and when to exit – Relationships
- What to deposit and when to encash – Time
- How much to hold tight and when to relax – Health
- Why to work for it and when to make it work for us – Money
